Next up to feature on our Who What Why feature is Boris
Here they are discussing their BIMM Berlin experience so far…
Who are you listening to at the moment?
I’ve been into drum’n’bass music for about four years now, so 80% of my music collection fits into this genre. I love it because it’s very diverse – you can mix it with any other genre so it never gets old or boring; there’s always someone pushing the boundaries.
Right now I’m listening to Anushka – ‘Never Can Decide (Ivy Lab Remix)’. I heard it at a rave during my holidays in Hungary and it reminds me of home. It’s a beautiful track.
What do you love about Berlin?
I love the fact that there are so many different people from all over the world here, and everyone is accepted for who they are. It’s the perfect place for musicians, because there are so many possibilities to perform and to enjoy live music. Going clubbing is great, it’s reasonably cheap and the clubs are open for ages. Also, skateboarding is one of my hobbies and there are loads of skate parks here where I can do the sport.
Why Music Production?
I chose my course because I love producing music and I’d like to take my skills to a professional level. I get so much joy when I’m satisfied with music I make; hopefully during my studies I’ll have these moments more and more often. The goal is to get other people to enjoy my music too, so hopefully one day I can make a living out of it.
