Who are you listening to at the moment?
Weirdly enough, lately I have found myself listening to podcasts more than albums. My most listened to ones are: Art of the Score, SCOREcast, Perspectives, and BAFTA Conversations. Every one of them is somehow connected to film music which keeps me interested to the last minute, and they also include loads of interviews with directors and film composers.
Musically – Vulfpeck just dropped a new album which is incredible. I have also been revisiting some of my favourite albums like Light as a Feather from Chick Corea or RAMMSTEIN’s Mutter.
What do you love about Bristol?
Bristol has an incredible community spirit – people are really helpful and so nice to each other. There’s something for everyone – the art and music scene is so incredibly vibrant you can always find something to catch your eye or ear. And there are so many undiscovered gems throughout the city… I have been living here for two years now and surely haven’t seen half of it yet!
Also, I really love that there are so many common areas and parks in the city. When you’re stressed or tired, it’s always a good idea to go out and catch a breath!
Why Music Production?
It was the answer for me because I wanted a future career in which I could connect my passion for music with technology. I have always been good with computers and really tech-savvy but only doing this would not have satisfied me – it had to be something with a creative element. Since I am a classically trained musician, I thought “Is there a job that makes use of these two skills?”. It turns out that music production, and more particularly – composing for media, is just what I was searching for!
