How do I apply?

All applications are made directly to BIMM Institute Dublin. Register your interest by emailing [email protected] and you will be issued with a digital application form.

What’s the deadline to apply?

For course starting September 2023, the deadline to apply is 31st July 2023. You will need to apply direct to BIMM. Please register your interest with the Admissions Team and they will send you a link to the application form.

I missed the deadline, can I still apply?

If you have missed the deadline we recommend contacting our Admissions Team at [email protected] as soon as possible.

Can I defer my place on the course?

Yes, we will hold your place on the course for one year. Beyond that, you are welcome to reapply for a place.

I have applied, what happens next?

Our Admissions Team check enquiries daily and would normally be able to respond to your application within 48hrs of receipt on weekdays. The team will then be in touch regarding the next steps.

I don’t live in Ireland; can I still apply?

Applications from overseas are welcome. However, we encourage you to contact the Admissions Team to discuss the course in further detail. International students that require a visa must investigate their individual visa requirements directly at inis.gov.ie.

It is not currently possible to procure a full-time Irish student visa for this course as the course is accredited by BIMM Institute, a UK awarding body.

Overseas students where English is not their native language may be required to meet a minimum English language requirement of an Academic IELTS 6.0 We require a minimum of 5.5 to be achieved in each band.

What are the entry requirements?

The minimum academic requirements for the programme are the completion of a successful interview and 2 H5s and 4O6s/H7s (formerly 2 Higher Level C3s and 4 Ordinary Level D3s) in any subjects at Leaving Certificate. 5 Distinctions at FETAC/QQI Level 5 are also acceptable.

Can I apply as a Mature Student?

Yes! Mature Applicants must be 23 on 1st January in the year of application to be classified as mature student. The primary entry criteria for consideration will be an interview.

What are the fees?

The fees for this course for the academic year 2023/2024 are €4,950 per year. They’re payable directly to BIMM Dublin with a deposit of €300 required to accept and secure a place on the course.

Can I get a grant?

The BA (Hons) Music Business is a private degree, and SUSI Funding and grants are not available for this course. A monthly payment plan is available upon enrolment.

Is there a scholarship available?

Unfortunately, there are no scholarships currently available for this course. Please keep an eye on our website and social media for any future developments.

What happens if I don’t meet the minimum entry requirements?

You can still apply for our Foundation Diploma in Music Business. This is a one-year part-time diploma that is also awarded by BIMM Institute the equivalent of Level 6 on the Irish NFQ. (Graduates achieve 60 CATS credits at UK Level 4 which if the equivalent of 30 ECTS credits at Level 6 on the Irish National Framework of Qualifications). An entry route is available to the BA(Hons) Music Business for graduates of the Foundation Diploma in Music Business.

The minimum entry requirements for this course is the successful completion of one module at QQI Level 5. This is equivalent to one subject at Leaving Certificate level.  The minimum grade accepted at Leaving Certificate is 1O6 (formerly one Ordinary Level D3).

What facilities are available for BIMM Dublin Students?

As a student at BIMM Dublin, you will be taught by a range of successful music industry professionals on a daily basis. You’ll also have the opportunity for tutorials with our teaching team.

We bring in special guests weekly, and run masterclasses – giving you even more insight to working in the music industry, and an opportunity to build your connections.

Alongside lessons we run student clubs, such as Keyboard Club and Business Club. We offer to unlimited career tutorials, so you can discuss your future music industry goals in pastoral meetings with our dedicated Student Services team to help you deal with any personal issues whilst you’re studying.

As musicians, you’ll be able to rehearse on campus with full back-line equipment during the day and evening. Evening rehearsals run from 6pm – 10pm Monday to Friday.

When you’re in your 3rd and 4th year, you’ll have access to our Mac Suite with industry standard Music and Audio Production software including Pro Tools, Ableton Live and Logic DAWs.
