Hey guys, I’m Tosin. I’m currently in my final year at BIMM Institute Dublin and I’m going to be telling you a little bit about my journey.

Why did you choose to study Vocals?

I really wanted to work on my vocals. I started singing when I was about 10 in the church choir and felt that if I wanted to make this my career I knew I really needed to focus on my vocals.

Once I’ve completed my degree, I’d love to be a session singer. I also wanted to train to become a well-rounded musician.

What’s it been like studying in Dublin?

There’s always something to do in Dublin. It’s been a great experience studying here. It’s an amazing place to meet new people and even just meet up with your friends. There are great gigs, fantastic food, the atmosphere is great, and everybody is so friendly and welcoming.

How has being at BIMM helped you develop as a musician?

“I’ve also met a lot of bands, musicians and amazing lecturers – all of whom have helped me become who I am today.”

Being at BIMM has helped me develop to become the musician I am today. I’ve learnt about marketing, business and developed my networking skills. I’ve also met a lot of bands, musicians and amazing lecturers – all of whom have helped me become who I am today. Through meeting all these amazing people and learning about all the different genres, it inspired me to start my own musical project: Toshín.

What piece of advice would you give to someone looking to study at BIMM Institute Dublin?

Just go for it! There is so much you could do in the music industry. You can out on gigs, work on the business side, become a session musician; you can do anything – even become a lecturer at BIMM.

There’s just so much room for everyone, and my personal advice is just to go for it. If it’s your dream, and what you’re passionate about; if it’s what you want to do for the rest of your life (even if you’re feeling a bit scared), just do it. I’m here right now, and I have no regrets whatsoever.
