Who are you listening to at the moment?
I’m in awe of Snarky Puppy; they’re amazing live – I saw them in May at the Manchester Apollo. I’m always listening to the greatest musician that ever lived – Chopin, and the greatest band – Radiohead. But I’ve also been listening to a lot of electro pop recently for production tips e.g. Banks, Dua Lipa, Oh Wonder, Zara Larsson etc.
What do you love about Manchester?
It’s cosmopolitan. You can be who you want to be here. It’s a growing city and I like that it’s a city on the way up, it’s one of the best places in the UK for music. It’s flat so I don’t have to walk up any hills.
Why Music Production?
My production skills aren’t as up to scratch as my songwriting skills. And BIMM was top of the search when I asked Google. After only a year of studying here I’ve already made friends for life and the tutors are not only great people, they are genuinely interested and enthusiastic about your art which is crucial for your own development and confidence.
