Who are you listening to at the moment?

The last band I listened to Brass Against. Super cool brass band that does covers of Rage Against the machine, Audioslave, etc. Before that it was The Gypsy Kings with a bit of Ozzy Osbourne between songs. I grew up with soul and classical music and later discovered heavy metal, so every day I can switch between a nice calm piece of Handel, some soulful Sam Cooke, to a fist pumping track from Lamb of God. All depending on what the mood I’m in. Over the years, I began listening to bands that like to mix genres like Kontrust, Electric Six or Seeed. I like odd music. Some of my favorite black metal songs are mixed with more folk music like ‘Cine Iubeste Si Lasa’ by Rotting Christ.

What do you love about London?

I visited London the first time in 2006 and said to myself “I think I will move here someday”. Twelve years later I moved to London from the outskirts of Stockholm, Sweden to get a degree in Music Production. I love London for the architecture, the people and “the flow”. Theres so much you can do and experience here. It has a big music scene of new music in all genres to discover and if you want to find talent you’ll find it. I have various different projects of my own, so finding musicians and people to work with that share your vision is great.

Why Music Production?

I have always been interested in everything that involves music; what happens in the studio, the work on and around stage, the songwriting process, the musicianship, etc. I can’t really decide one thing that I want to do. I want to do everything. So, I felt that a Degree in Music Production combines all of that. At BIMM I feel that I really can combine all my interests and get the tools and know-how that the industry demands, so I can have a career in the music industry whether I produce, do sound engineering or write songs.
