What was your inspiration when you began writing the track?
I had this idea of ‘No Vex’ (don’t get angry, stay calm) on my mind for quite a while. For several weeks, I was just casually collecting ridiculous annoying things from the people around me and writing them down in my songbook. With the material I had, I could have written three songs!
Are there any artists that inspire you when writing?
So many artists inspire me all the time! I constantly discover new music and then artists bring out new music literally every Friday. It’s impossible not to get inspired by what is out there.
What is key to your sound and how do you make your music stand out?
My sound is always a surprise. I myself never know what will come out next. I love music and many different genres and I feel like we’ve passed the era where artists need to fit into one single tiny box!
I’ve always mixed styles in my music and now I am increasingly mixing languages as well. Though I am currently predominately aiming for the German market, there is always some ear candy in other languages included. Now, of course, it’s up to the audience to decide if that is enough to make me stand out…
How does your songwriting process work?
In the past year, I have been writing more in sessions rather than all by myself (insert music). At the moment, I enjoy working in a team far more, but like everything in life, it really depends. Every song has its own story of birth.

How has studying at BIMM helped you develop as an artist?
At BIMM I learnt to expand my horizon and diversify. I have skills, goals and contacts that I would have not gained as easily if it weren’t for BIMM and I’m grateful for the experience and jump-start I got.
What’s next for you?
Hustling harder 😀 I’m releasing an EP in autumn, which I am very much looking forward to, but I am also writing a lot for others and just want to create as much music as possible with as many people I can possibly fit into one room. Learning, creating and loving my job are my main goals.
