Who are you listening to at the moment?
I have a really mixed taste in music and tend to listen to different genres/bands every day depending on my mood. But recently I have been fan-girling over Billie Eilish’s new album massively! I think she’s so cool. Other than that, I am listening loads to Hiatus Kaiyote, Björk, Tom Misch, Jungle and Alice Phoebe Lou at the moment, amongst many others. Queen will always be an all time fave, though.
What do you love about Bristol?
I love how friendly it is! Bristol has got such a lovely atmosphere, and it’s a great place to be if you want to be challenged creatively – there are always people around to work with who will inspire and help grow your ideas. I also love all the cafes, the vibrant music scene and the beautiful parks. I’m so glad I decided to come here!
Why Vocals?
I love singing; especially in harmonies. And I’ve always felt drawn to the idea of working with music in one way or another. During my time on the Professional Musicianship course I have realised that there are so many other areas within the industry that appeal to me. Through BIMM I have been given opportunities to explore those as well.
For example, apart from my love for arranging harmonies, I am currently interning as a marketing assistant for a festival, creating content (photography/video) for local musicians and helping to manage a singer-songwriter here in Bristol! If it weren’t for the expertise, connections and support through BIMM, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I’m really grateful for everything it’s given me.
