Next up to feature on our Who What Why feature is Ageliki

Here they are discussing their BIMM Berlin experience so far…

Who are you listening to at the moment?

I’m really open to exploring different kinds of music, but at the moment, psychedelic rock, indie rock and metal are the top music genres I’m listening to. That includes my all-time favorite band, Iron Maiden, as well as Avenged Sevenfold, Black Peaks, Stoned Jesus (yeah, that’s actually a band), 1000mods, Arctic Monkeys, The Neighborhood and many more. Besides this, I also enjoy my time listening to some dance/electronic and hip hop/rap musicians like Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Jane XØ and Eminem. The musician I can always listen to and who I would never replace for anyone in this world is David Bowie. Legend.

What do you love about Berlin?

The question should be ‘what do I NOT love about Berlin’. I literally love everything, from how everyone can dress the way they want to and just be themselves without being judged, to how amazingly artistic and creative the city is. I love how open-minded everyone is and just the feeling of being free. I’ve never felt more welcome in any other city, to be very honest. I’m more than grateful for the opportunity to live here!

Why Vocals?

I chose the Vocals course as I want to improve my vocal abilities, discover my voice, learn how to use it and become better day by day. Singing has always been a big and important part of me growing up. It makes me feel free and literally manages to turn my bad days into good ones. My goal is to be able to stand on stages with a band supporting me singing my songs, and entertain people, but also touch their souls. Just as my biggest inspirations like David Bowie and Bruce Dickinson have done, I want to help others by giving them the feeling of not being alone in this world and giving them hope to move forward, no matter what.
