In our latest instalment of Meet the Industry Partner, we’re returning to Screen and Film School Manchester to hear about Revolution Productions, a local company with a big ambitions.
Last time out, we put the spotlight on We Are Parable, a local event company who specialise in creating immersive cinema experiences for diverse audiences. This week we’re focussing on Revolution Productions, a successful Manchester-based company who work closely alongside us here at the Film School. They say that ‘It’s time for a new way of doing things, the Revolution starts here,’ and it is clear to see how they are implementing that ethos.
Revolution Productions are an exciting company that make moving image and stills commercials in Manchester. Their core value is that they want to create ‘a positive working environment to give the best experience for our clients, staff and crew.’ They are passionate about making creative content from the North and always endeavor to use local crew. In addition to this, they also aim to offer their clients a meticulous approach to production standards and are focused on delivering exceptional value through expertise, while pursuing the best creative outcome for their clients.
In a world where it is often difficult to find the right production support, Revolution work alongside companies and their clients, fitting in seamlessly to make it feel like they are an extension of any given team.
They have a varied history and an illustrious list of clients, some of which are local to Manchester and all of which are an illustration of how important Revolution is to the Film School as an industry partner. The company was founded by Jack Suckling, who has worked in the locations department for some of the north’s most prestigious TV and Film productions for over twenty years. His credits include Shameless (C4), Four Lions (Feature), Exile (Red) and Scott & Bailey (Red). After making the move into commercial production, Jack started Revolution five years ago and the company has gone from strength to strength ever since.
Working closely with Manchester’s global football teams, Revolution has shot numerous Puma campaigns with Manchester City, including their annual new kit launch. They also shot Christian Ronaldo’s Therabody campaign in Switzerland and their most recent exciting collaboration, PUMA She Moves Us, put the spotlight on female athletes. Over Christmas 2021, Revolution was pleased to support the shoot of a campaign for the homeless charity, Crisis. This campaign saw the company work with superstars Emma Thompson, Dina Asher-Smith and Chris Martin. These projects prove that Revolution Productions strives to make professional high-end commercials across a variety of platforms.
Here’s what Revolution Productions had to say about the synergy between themselves and Screen and Film School Manchester:
“We are delighted that the Screen and Film School Manchester have opened up recently on our doorstep in the very centre of Manchester. We hope to work with them in providing work placements and opportunities for their students within our future work.”
The relationship between the Film School and our industry partners is mutually beneficial, and we strive to create strong bonds with them and to offer the best possible platform for our students to thrive. There will be another example of this next week when we visit Birmingham to hear about one of their industry partners.
