Who are you listening to at the moment?

I listen to a large variety of music. I go from Bill Evans to Meshuggah to Sabrina Claudio, Radiohead, Pages, Snarky Puppy, Alice in Chains, Big Wreck, Woo Park, Wes Montgomery, Esperanza Spalding, Everything Everything, Maxus, Toto, Winger, Bon Iver etc.

At the moment I also listen to podcasts. It’s nice to have a break from music sometimes and I think podcasts are a good way for me to ‘zone out’ a bit.

What do you love about London?

I’ve always had a connection to London. I just felt at home when I visited as a teenager. I think Denmark and the UK share a silly, sarcastic sense of humour and I love that.
London has so much going on all the time, it feels like 100 small cities squished together. I also love how you meet people from across the world and you don’t know what opportunity you might run into on any given day.

When I started getting into guitar, I dreamed of studying music here. I remember a student adviser once told me that I should never expect to study guitar in London and should aim for a realistic career. Oh well – here we are.

Why Guitar?

I decided to do the BMus course because I want to become better at my instrument. That is always my ultimate goal. I feel the better I get, the more there is to learn – it’s frustrating but exciting at the same time. The tutors are excellent and I am very lucky to have been recommended by them for gigs and to have met artists and songwriters who took me on amazing journeys, gigs and opportunities. I’m forever grateful that I moved here.
