Our Taster Days
It’s not long now before we open our doors and welcome our applicants to step behind the curtain and experience a day in the life of a Screen and Film School student.
Have you ever imagined yourself calling the shots on set, capturing the perfect frame, or penning a screenplay that grips audiences? Our Taster Days are designed to give you a taste of what it’s like to do it for real.
Your Taster Day is a great chance to see our facilities whilst also taking part in fun workshops. These workshops are meant to give you a taste of what it’s like to study with us. You get to see our lecturer’s’ style of teaching and, most importantly, get to know our lecturers and feel comfortable in the space before joining us in September.
But this day isn’t just about observing from the sidelines – it’s about rolling up your sleeves and getting hands-on with the craft.
What to expect
You’ll kick off the day with a warm welcome and an overview of what’s in store. We’ll break the ice with a lighthearted quiz to get those creative wheels turning. Then, it’s time to dive into the nitty-gritty of filmmaking with our expert-led workshops.
Whether it’s exploring the art of capturing the perfect shot, unravelling the mysteries of film business and production, learning how to dress a set, or delving into the world of sound design, there’s something for everyone. Plus, don’t forget to refuel with some delicious pizza on us before diving back into the action.

Throughout the day, our Student Ambassadors will be your guides, sharing their experiences and answering any questions you may have about life at Screen and Film School. Whether you’re curious about our Brighton, Birmingham, or Manchester campus, they’ve got you covered.
