Mia Peters is a first-year Songwriting student. We caught up with Mia to find out more about her life in music and what she is loving about BIMM Institute so far.
WHO are you listening to at the moment?
My favourite artist at the moment is Rhys Lewis. He’s a British singer-songwriter who has an amazing voice and is just as great with lyrics. He’s the kind of artist I aspire to be.
I also really got into Dermot Kennedy’s music lately and luckily got to see him live at Reeperbahn festival.
WHY did you choose Songwriting?
I’ve always been a singer-songwriter, so deciding on just one instrument seemed hard to commit to. With this course, I think I’ll be able to explore my music further lyric-wise , as well as progress with my voice and the instruments I play. I’m certain that this will get my music to a professional level because I’ve only had two weeks of classes so far and I’m already noticing a positive development in how I work with music.
