Here is BIMM Brighton Student, Lisa Ivars talking to us about her Event Management experience…
Who are you listening to at the moment?
Since I almost always listen to the same bands and genre, I’m now trying to broaden my horizons a bit by finding new bands. But, to be fair it isn’t going very well and I always end up listening to old favourites like The View, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Oasis and other indie rock bands.
What do you love about Brighton?
The sea! I live about five minutes from the beach and I try to spend as much time there as I can. I also love that there’s always something going on in Brighton. You can go out and do something every day of the week if you want to. I come from quite a small city in Sweden where you’re lucky if something fun is going on Saturday night, so it’s a big change for me coming here and I couldn’t be happier!
Why Event Management?
To apply to BIMM and event management was a really spontaneous decision, but I’m really happy I did. I already have a performance degree in classical music and I felt I wanted to get the management view on live music. I found BIMM through google one day and started to read about the courses and instantly fell for event management, as live music has been a big part of my life for long.
