Who are you listening to at the moment?
At the moment, I’m listening to a Belgian artist called Angèle, Mahalia and High Tyde. My music taste is really varied and BIMM is great for that because there’s a bit of everything.
What do you love about Birmingham?
Birmingham is great because it’s so central. It’s growing rapidly and that’s obvious to see with the music scene – there are so many venues of all different sizes. People are finally recognising Birmingham as a major music city, so it’s only getting better.
Why Music Business?
I chose Business because there is a great mixture of practical and academic modules, taught by tutors who are still working in the industry. The course gives you direct contact with musicians and producers right from the start, so it’s useful for meeting people and building relationships. You also have the opportunity to try out loads of different job roles to see what works for you and there are opportunities to get stuck in, like at festivals and gigs.
