So, you’re thinking of training with us in Acting, Musical Theatre and Dance – maybe you’re destined for the ensemble of a west end show, or perhaps you’ll grace the silver screen in the latest Hollywood blockbuster. Alongside your training, you’ll need a few other things to get you there – which is where our Creative Futures team comes in.

The Creative Futures team is represented at each campus by a dedicated Careers Manager who will be your guide to all things industry related. Whether at Essex, Birmingham, Manchester or Brighton you’ll have a permanent link to the industry at your fingertips – on top of all of your already well-connected lecturers!

Here are 5 things your Creative Futures team can do for you:

Masterclasses & Workshops

The Creative Futures team organises our regular masterclasses and guest workshops to enhance your learning experiences. They strategically identify and invite industry professionals to share their expertise. These workshops complement your course, providing students with real-world insights and networking opportunities.

Past masterclasses and workshops have included agents, industry organisations such as Equity and Spotlight, West End performers from shows like Moulin Rouge and Wicked, choreographers (like Nathan from Diversity, above), actors, creative directors (such as Matilda’s Ed Burnside) and more.

Showreels and headshots

Showreels and headshots are essential tools in an actor’s or dancer’s career arsenal. These visual representations serve as a performer’s calling card, offering a snapshot of their skills and appearance to casting directors and agents. Headshots provide a professional first impression, showcasing the artist’s look and personality. Showreels, on the other hand, demonstrate an artist’s range, talent, and experience through compiled video clips.

The Creative Futures team organise professional photography and videography sessions to create your showreels and headshots while you train with us – meaning you’ll graduate with all of the essential assets uploaded to your own spotlight profile, and be able to get straight into auditions.

Agent Panel Days

Our Creative Futures team organises our amazing Agent Panel Days on campus, inviting industry professionals to scout the emerging talent at Performers College. They carefully select a diverse range of agents. You’ll be prepared with guidance on presentation and material selection. These events will provide you with invaluable exposure to industry gatekeepers, offering real-world audition experience and potential representation opportunities, bridging the gap between education and professional careers. In our 2023-2024 academic year, over 90 agents visited us and 202 students graduated already having signed with agents – with even more students signing with agents after they graduated.

External Auditions

No only do the team invite agents in for panel days, but they also invite producers, entertainment companies, and agencies on campus for auditions, providing you with vital industry connections. They curate a diverse range of opportunities, from theatre productions to film projects and commercial work. These events offer students real-world audition experience and the chance to showcase their talents directly to industry professionals, potentially leading to immediate work opportunities or valuable industry relationships. In our 2023/24 academic year students auditioned and won over 160 roles before graduating, in areas like pantomime, cruise contracts, Disneyland performers (from the audition shown above!), corporate events, and theatre shows.
