Who are you listening to at the moment?

Blackfield and Keane. Blackfield is a new discovery I made earlier this year. I became very interested in Steven Wilson’s projects (Porcupine Tree, Blackfield, his solo albums…) but Blackfield has definitely reached my heart. I was lucky enough to attend a very intimate Blackfield gig in May, at Islington Assembly Hall. Ever since that magical night, I’ve been listening to them non-stop.  Keane are my favourite band, as a non-native English speaker, I began learning the language when I was 6, singing along to Keane’s “Everybody’s Changing”. At the moment I’m both listening to my past and my future.

What do you love about London?

My favourite thing about London is that it is a music hub. Having the chance to go to a gig every day? Many times for free? Come on, if you like music, that’s a dream come true! And it’s completely real in London! Being completely honest, this city has given me all the opportunities my hometown couldn’t give me. I’ll always feel very grateful for that.

Why Music Business?

Because I have wandered long enough and I think I deserve to find my own path. I spent a couple of years thinking I had no passions to work on, that I’d be destined to study and work in an industry that didn’t move me at all. When I moved to London in April ’17 I came across BIMM London and its Music Business course. I remember my reaction as if it were yesterday: I put my hands on my head and smiled, I was so thrilled. That’s when I acknowledged the career I had to work on; I’d gone to loads of concerts and in that moment I realised I belonged right there. I’d like to thank my mum for my musical upbringing.

Join us on Music Business at BIMM in London, the hub of the music industry.
