Who are you listening to at the moment?
I generally listen to a lot of R&B and soul. I’ve been listening to Jorja Smith, Elli Ingram, Daniel Caesar and Tom Misch a lot lately, as well as some Irish artists like Kojaque and Dermot Kennedy.
What do you love about Dublin?
I love that there’s such an active music scene here with an accepting community, which makes it easier to make connections with people in your field. There are so many talented bands and artists that are covering a broad range of styles and putting Ireland on the map. There’s always something going on that you can get involved in.
Why Vocals?
I couldn’t imagine studying anything else, to be honest. I was always set on BIMM because I was aware of what I could gain from studying Vocals and from the degree as a whole. I’ve always loved singing and writing songs, so to be able to study a degree that equips you with the necessary tools to pursue a career in music is great. I was ready to dive head first into whatever the four years threw at me and eager to make the most of my time here, which I think you have to do in a creative course like this. Having experienced tutors who are still involved in the industry and being surrounded by talented peers is an amazing opportunity to have while honing your craft and learning the ins and outs of the business. I feel confident progressing to the next step of my career because of BIMM.
