My name is Ruth Cronin. I’m from Kerry originally, and moved up to Dublin 3 years ago for college. I perform under the moniker of RUTH, and I’m the editor of the college newspaper, The Manuscript.
How did you get started?
I completed the CPD Diploma before I went into first year, where I met a lot of like-minded people with whom I would eventually start writing. Once I went into first year, I began recording and gigging around Dublin.
Why did you choose BIMM Dublin?
Studying music at third level didn’t seem possible to me until I discovered BIMM. I took a year out after my Leaving Cert and completed the CPD Diploma to test the BIMM waters. By the end of the year I didn’t want to leave – so I didn’t!
What has been/was your highlight at BIMM?
My highlight has definitely been meeting so many like-minded people. BIMM is such a hub of creative and artistic individuals, and it has been amazing to be surrounded by these people over the past few years.
What advice would you give to future BIMM Students?
Immerse yourself in everything you can during the 4 years – they fly by!
