My name is Aliesha Lobuczek and I’m a vocalist from Birmingham.
How did you get started as a singer?
To me, singing was always about having fun and at any chance I could get I would audition for school musicals, sign-up for singing lessons and volunteer for anything that involved performing.
Why did you choose BIMM Bristol?
BIMM Bristol has a great reputation and after meeting the tutors and staff at the open day I knew that this was where I wanted to study. BIMM really helped introduce me to a place that is so rich in creativity, allowing me to experience uni life in a positive and unique way.
What has been your highlight so far?
One of my biggest highlights during my time at BIMM so far is performing at the End of Term Gig’s and getting to play with some incredible musicians, as well as watching and supporting the amazing artists and bands that play these events.
What advice would you give to future students on your course?
Remember to look after your voice! Do your warm-ups, rest when you need to and take care of yourself. The expectations are high in terms of the standard of your performances both in class and on stage, so make sure that your vocal health is your top priority during your time at BIMM so that you can perform at your best and continue to become stronger as a vocalist.
