JOHNNY MARR – GRUENSPAN: WEDNESDAY 5 DECEMBER
The iconic Johnny Marr comes to Hamburg! Though, of course, best known as guitarist for The Smiths – without doubt one of the most influential bands of the late ’80s – Marr also has an impressive trio of solo albums to date. At this Gruenspan gig, he’ll present his latest, ‘Call the Comet’, along with various Smiths songs. What more is there to write about one of the most legendary guitarists and co-songwriters in modern pop history, other than get your tickets now?
ASH – LOGO: FRIDAY 7 DECEMBER
The Belfast three-piece has been an institution in the European indie rock scene since their legendary ‘1977’ album dropped in 1996. Though they’ve been quiet of late, they’re making quite the comeback with their anticipated new album ‘Islands’, and reclaiming their place in the sun. Loud and idiosyncratic as ever, these guys are amazing live. If indie rock is in your blood, this gig is a must. Don’t miss out.
SHAME – UEBEL & GEFÄHRLICH: SATURDAY 8 DECEMBER
British alt-rockers Shame currently sit side-by-side with IDLES as the hottest post-punk act of the moment. Released in January, their debut album ‘Songs of Praise’ has taken Europe’s music scene by storm. But it’s not just the critics who love them; their jam-packed live shows are testament to their popularity. INTERGALACTIC LOVERS – MOLOTOW: FRIDAY 14 DECEMBER
At home in Belgium, this eclectic dream pop band is regarded as a worthy successor to the iconic KS Choice. But although Intergalactic Lovers are not so well known in Germany yet, this is all set to change! SELIG – GRUENSPAN: THURSDAY 20 DECEMBER
Local rockers Selig have made Hamburg music history since their self-titled debut hit the charts in 1994. For over 20 years – admittedly with a break in between – these guys have served up clever lyrics and anthems characterised by their experimental, grungy sound.
