BIMM Bristol student Bronwyn Leonard recently received the fantastic honour of performing at the Royal Albert Hall, London alongside the BBC National Youth Choir for the opening ceremony of the BBC Proms.

Her performance opened-up the 123rd season of the world renowned classical music festival and was broadcast live on BBC 3, with a near sell-out crowd watching the show within the historic venue itself.

Reflecting on her experience, the Vocal Degree student had this to say;

“It was an incredible experience, I made friends with the other choir singers and improved my ability to read music. The pieces were written by John Adam and were incredibly difficult. But, throwing myself in the deep end is exactly what I needed to push myself! The performance went amazingly and it was great to have Ed Gardner as the conductor.”

Since her performance, Bronwyn has been busy recording her own EP as well as performing gigs for her own original material.
