My Dublin: Bobby Burzawa

18th July 2019

How would you summarise Dublin?

A lot of adventure, between the markets and various alleyways that are home to some of the best shops in the world. There is so much quirkiness to take in. The music scene is fairly spot on too, some really cool stuff is being glued up together.

Do you remember the first gig you saw here?

Yup. It was Green Day in Marley Park around 2010. Whether you’re a fan of the band’s music or not, Billie Joe is easily one of the best performers to ever step foot on stage.

And the best (so far)?

Foals, 3 Arena, 2016… Holy smokes do they put on a show… Mosh-pits everywhere!

If you had someone visiting for 24 hours, where would you take them?

That’s easy, Botanic Gardens for a little walk about, stop by WoW Burger on Grafton St, hit up the Trinners for Winners grounds, pop over to the National Art Museum, stall up in Stephen’s Green with a few cans, then head on and see if any cool bands are playing in Whelan’s, The Underground, or Grand Social.

What would you say is Dublin’s hidden gem?

Accent’s, Literally the nicest staff you’ll ever meet like ever anywhere, also Fantastic Coffee, Tea and Ice Tea!

The best for…

A quick pint? Peadar Kearney’s
A night out? Distract 8 was a bitta a buzz until it closed down, PMac’s is a top spot for some crafty beers
To see new music? Whelan’s
Grab a coffee? Accent’s Coffee & Tea Lounge
Brunch? Bagel Bar
Dinner? Brother Hubbard
Takeaway? DiFontaine’s Pizza
Venue? Whelan’s
Taking a time out? Stephen’s Green
