Hi, my name is Felix. I am a singer-songwriter doing a Songwriting Degree at BIMM Birmingham. I have always loved music from a young age, so when I saw they were opening a BIMM in Birmingham, I set my heart on attending.
I began playing small gigs and open mic nights locally around the age of 13 before gaining popularity in 2016 when I released my second EP which ended up being featured on BBC Introducing, which lead to me being invited to do a live session. My mum used to drive me to gigs at all ends of the country, no matter the hour. Haha! The reason I really got into music was the inspiration of watching other people perform – it reminded me that it is possible.
My time at BIMM has allowed me to meet my manager Jade Sewell and musicians of a stupidly high standard. I have just finalised the release of my EP and single, which will be out this Easter and I couldn’t have done any of this without BIMM.
I’ve been spending a lot of my time working and writing but I’ve also been checking out some live music nights. One of my favorites has to be DOPE VIBES jam night at the Birmingham Bierkeller club. I believe they are that last Monday of each month it’s not one to be missed!
I’ve also been to a few gigs put on by Birmingham promoters and Baddies Boogie which are always amazing nights of music.
Overall, the first term at BIMM has been one of the best few weeks of my life and I’m so excited to learn more and grow more and of course release my single and EP!
