As the BBC’s urban music radio station 1Xtra celebrates its 15th birthday, production company ReelWorld recruited a talented selection of BIMM vocalists to create a fresh set of imaging for the station.

For those unfamiliar with the term, radio “imaging” is essentially the stings, soundbites and segues broadcast between DJ announcements and ads. Reelworld are one of the world’s leading radio production/branding companies and their imaging can be heard on some of the most influential radio stations in the world, including Nova Australia, Kiss FM UK and Z100 New York.

Continuing their great relationship with BIMM across all campuses, the company teamed up with BA Hons vocal students for studio sessions to create their latest batch of IDs – including BIMM London’s Ta’Shan (pictured above with ReelWorld’s Ben Marks).

Check out a selection of the fresh new imaging below!

Briggy Smale, Artist Portfolio and Talent Manager at BIMM Brighton had this to say about the students’ involvement in the project.

“It’s great to see our students given a platform to shine. We know we have some awesome talent at BIMM, and we can’t wait to hear more of them on 1Xtra!”
