BIMM Berlin’s Guide to Finding Your Forever Home

At BIMM Berlin, we understand that finding a place to live before you arrive isn’t the easiest – particularly if you’re coming from abroad! To ease the transition until you find your forever home, we’ve compiled a list of networks where you might be able to find temporary accommodation in the meantime.

House of Nations

With seven apartment buildings spread across different neighbourhoods in Berlin, House of Nations offers modern apartments, as well as single rooms. Their focus is on students and apprentices, plus they’re available at reasonable prices.

Think of Homestay as a clone of Airbnb, but with slightly lower prices. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay for a week or so while you’re flat hunting, take a look for rooms or entire homes here.

The go-to website for those looking for shared apartments, WG-Gesucht has dozens of new listings every day. There are rooms on offer for a huge range of timescales as well – so there’s a chance you’d be able to find something long-term here too.

Studenten WG

If you’d prefer to live somewhere more student-centric, check out websites such as Studenten WG. There are thousands of like-minded students looking for roommates, so it’s definitely worth a visit.

If you’re not fussed about having a private room, there are a myriad of hostels close to BIMM Berlin which vary in price. Backpacker Berlin and Industriepalast Hostel are both just over ten minutes’ walking distance from our Warschauer Straβe campus. If you are a student at BIMM Berlin (or applying to be) you can get a special 15% discount on accommodation at Generator Hostels, please email [email protected] for the code.

You can also join a couple of Facebook groups centred around finding accommodation – we’d suggest trying Berlin WG Zimmer or WG-Zimmer & Wohnungen Berlin.

Our lovely Student Support Team are contactable at any time if you need some help. They’re available at [email protected] or on 00 49 (0) 30 3119 9186 and can offer advice on whatever you need assistance with.
