BIMM artists at Dot-To-Dot Festival Manchester

Festival season is in full-swing and this weekend sees a host of talented BIMM students and alumni joining the likes of Crystal Fighters and Swim Deep with performances at Dot to Dot Festival in Manchester. Here’s a rundown of artists to keep an eye out for on Friday 24th.


Sounding like an artfully crafted blend of Interpol, The Smiths and the Airborne Toxic Event, Manchester quintet Tamsyn purvey the sort of emotively upbeat indie pop-rock that sets your hairs on end and tugs at your heartstrings with anthemic choruses and expansive song arrangements. Carl North

With his bluesey baritone vocal and powerful rhythm guitar playing, Carl North (Pictured above) will perform a special solo acoustic performance on Friday, minus the Lonely Hearts. Gullivers NQ – 6.30pm – Facebook // Instagram

Dakota Avenue

New Luna

Post-indie dream pop quartet New Luna recently tore the roof off at The Great Escape and Louderthanwar’s showcase event at Focus Wales festival. These guys are definitely an act to keep en eye on this year. Aatma – 10.15pm. – Facebook // Instagram

Gathering of Strangers

Phoebe Green

Alt pop songstress Phoebe Green has been making some impressive industry waves lately. Since signing to Chess Club records, the young Songwriting student has headed out on tour with label mates Sundara Karma and Nadine Shah – Facebook // Instagram

Idle Hours

This indie pop four-piece have been steadily building steam on Manchester’s live scene since their debut single release in late 2018. Having already supported the likes of The Orielles as well as appearing on the line-up of Indie Week UK, it seems things are on the up for this quartet – Facebook // Website

Elephant Trees

Ever since their single ‘Monster’ blew us away back in 2017, we’ve been just a little bit in love with Elephant Trees. With bags of attitude and an ever-increasing popularity, the quartet’s sound harbours a tasteful blend of synth pop and alt rock. Trust us, you do NOT want to miss this show! The Claremonts

Taking influence from the likes of the Streets, Arctic Monkeys and the White Stripes, this energetic quartet are known for high octane performances and have been making a name for themselves on Manchester’s live scene since their inception back in 2016. Tribeca – 7.30pm – Facebook // Instagram


Sounding like early Bombay Bicycle Club mixed with King Krule and the Gaslight Anthem, this indie rock four-piece craft the sort of artful everyman anthems that we defy you not to jump around to. Tribeca – 5.30pm – Facebook 


Offering up a sonic mixture that brings to mind early Little Dragon, Shura and ‘Warning-era’ Hot Chip, this synth pop sextet will be bringing something a little different to the table. If you want a break from all those guitars, then this is the gig for you – Facebook 

Narrow Margin

Harking back to a golden age of indie rock ‘n’ roll, this young five-piece site the likes of Bruce Springsteen, The libertines and early Clash amongst their influences.
