What was the inspiration/is there a story behind your track?

This is a ‘sunny’ summer vibe love song to reflect a different side of my personality and music. It is definitely more romantic than my previous releases but the inspiration for the track was a period I was going through. There is a romantic story behind the song and I wanted it to have that sweet romantic feel to it. ‘I Need You’ is about the time when you are completely in love, you have ‘butterflies in your stomach’ and just completely fly away with emotions.

How did you approach writing this song?

It started as a collaboration with a very talented producer Daniel Bortey, who made an instrumental perfectly reflecting the vibe we were aiming for. The top-line had been co-written with my friend, also BIMM alumni, Lisa-Elena Marras. It was finished and mastered by my dear friend Jose Manuel Cubides, who I worked with on my previous releases too. I believe that all together, we made a great team.

Do you have a favourite line/section of the song?

It’s a chorus with a repetitive note and easy to remember melody.

Can you describe your sound in three words?

Sensual, glamorous, sexy.

How do you feel your sound has developed from studying at BIMM?

I learnt a lot about what my voice can do, what suits me the best and feels most natural. I got a lot of invaluable experience, and by my final year I started collaborating with people and writing new original material.

What’s the best thing about studying at BIMM?

There are so many great things about BIMM, such as being in a great musical environment where you can learn so fast. Also, networking with other musicians, motivation, amazing teachers, and many opportunities outside class which we get as students.
