What was the inspiration behind your track?

Lyrically the song is inspired by lucid dreaming and the ‘perplexed’ state in which it momentarily puts you in on awakening. Kind of a ‘ I’m living two lives’ sort of feeling and trying to re-remember whats actually real and what isn’t.

Sonically the inspiration behind this song would have to go to The Brian Jonestown Massacre, definitely one of my favourites.

What did your songwriting process involve?

There was a lot of loop pedal playing in the process of writing this track. As there is only a handful of chords that repeat throughout I looped the progression and built up everything else from that adding layers of guitar, vocals and percussion until the song had a full, and complete sound without having to add to many elements.

Is there a story behind the song?

For as long as i can remember i’ve had to share 50% of my sleeping time with dreaming time and wake up in the mornings having to unscramble my mind and figure out what I actually did the day/night before and what was just a dream which is a hell of task at 6am so i guess the song is just based on personal experiences.

I’m not crazy honest, just got some overactive receptors apparently…

Can you describe your sound in three words?

Always such a difficult question but if i had to i suppose it would be something like …

Pyschedelia, Garage Rock

What’s the best thing about studying at BIMM?

Being in an environment that is completely centered around music thats pretty great and pretty rare so yeah i’d have to go with that.
