What was the inspiration/is there a story behind your track?
Love and the loss of a friend.
What did your process involve?
One hot summer’s day, Kian and Jack were on their R’n’B vibes listening to D’Angelo and Erykah Badu, and out came some inspired riffs and melodies. They crafted their own sound and structure from these riffs, and out came ‘Lemonade’.
Do you have a favourite line/section of the song?
Well, for the singers it’s got to be the first line of the second verse: ‘OOOOO baby’. We have no clue why we like that bit so much. For the instrumentalists it’s got to be the crazy ending we created for live performances, which unfortunately isn’t in the demo version of the song, so you’ll have to come and see us play it live!
Can you describe your sound in three words?
We soul baby.
What’s the best thing about studying at BIMM?
The family we’ve created from it.
