BIMM Manchester’s Olly Flavell goes Behind the Track with his latest single ‘Back to Life’

What was the inspiration behind your track?

This track has so many inspirations; heartbreak, relationships, friendships. But, Overall the song is about finally finding love after all the struggles of just being in the wrong places, to keep on fighting through.

What did your songwriting process involve?

Ohh, the songwriting process here changed a few times. When first writing the song, the chorus had all sorts of different melodies. But once I had arranged the chorus, the melodies became set in stone, giving it that super large sound. It initially was crafted from a chord progression I had had written for ages, but it had never had a melody. I sat down and started writing with the idea of ‘found love,’  the whole song was written over a few weeks to become what it is now.

Is there are story behind the song?

I must say as before it’s definitely about ‘found love’. The verse’s explain a short but sweet story of being in the wrong places but finally finding home!

Can you describe your sound in three words?

Pop, Rock, Country?
