What was the inspiration/is there a story behind your track?

People sometimes go through life with a lot of fear and negative thinking. After being fed up with my own negative thoughts, I realised that it’s sometimes my own fault; that I’m creating this ‘Black Magic’ around myself and that I should start thinking more optimistically. Music has always been a therapy to me, and yet again it proved how I can help myself. Hopefully this is my way of helping other people.

How did you approach writing this song?

I wrote the song in about 20 minutes. At the time, I was in a perfect writing zone and the words just seemed right for me. This proved to me that whenever you have an idea for a song or you need to get something off your chest, just sit down and start writing. You never know which ideas will come up.

Do you have a favourite line/section of the song?

The instrumental after the bridge is my favorite part. This part was also the basis from which I started with the production and the arrangement of the track. My producer (Arzhproduction) and I didn’t want to get rid of this part, so we found that after the bridge is the best place for it.

Can you describe your sound in three words?

Authentic, emotional, powerful.

How do you feel your sound has developed from studying at BIMM?

I started the Diploma in Songwriting last year and it really helped me a lot when it comes to being an artist and getting out of my comfort zone. Being at BIMM made me realise that I have to stick to my own ideas and be true to myself when it comes to my sound and not following any other sound that already exists.

What’s the best thing about studying at BIMM?

To meet so many great artists and in general the whole networking experience! I love the gear that BIMM provides us with and all the masterclasses, tutorials and BIMM Extra courses are super cool too.
