What was the inspiration/is there a story behind your track?

So, I’m very much into my fantasy and sci-fi. I’m obsessed with creating unrealistic stories that are just fun to make up through my music. I’m obsessed with novels and have been since I was a teen and that’s where it’s all inspired from really. For this particular song, I just really wanted to tell a story and I’m going to have other songs that link with it.

How did you approach writing this song?

To be honest my guitarist and I were initially taking the mic, singing a really intense country genre over two chords he was playing around with. Then we changed the tempo and made it really slow and intriguing then developed it from there. The main inspiration for the music is Fleetwood Mac.

Do you have a favourite line/section of the song?

The chorus is my favourite part. It’s where the hook is and everyone knows it so they all sing it back to be when I play it live, which is really nice.

Can you describe your sound in three words?

Rock, Soul, Ambience.

How do you feel your sound has developed from studying at BIMM?

BIMM really helped inform me that it’s important to have your own sound and to develop it. It’s also helped me to stick to one genre.

What’s the best thing about studying at BIMM?

Finding the people that are in my band now who have developed my sound with me. The tutors are on another level. They’re all extremely professional and inspiring and really teach you how to work on yourself and to show how you need to be unique to be heard.
