What was the inspiration/is there a story behind your track?
‘Like To Be Alone’ is inspired by those brief moments that you’re not connected to the outside world, there is a lot of distraction and noise right now and it’s important to be able to switch off and take a break. The track came together very quickly and organically and was a true collaboration between us to bring out each members personality and flavour to create something that we’re extremely proud of. With a couple of our typical self-produced studio sessions at J&J and DHB Studios providing a strong basis for Mark Underdown to meld together and enhance our sonic character, ‘Like To Be Alone’ is some of our strongest work to date!
Do you have a favourite line/section of the song?
Our favourite section of the track is probably the end minute that brings together all the elements into what we call the ‘party bit’ which we then emphasised with the video also.
Can you describe your sound in three words?
Fat, Glacial and Boppin’
How do you feel your sound has developed from studying at BIMM?
BIMM has given each of the members the opportunity to put down roots in Bristol – one of the most musically diverse and exciting places to live in the UK. Plus, we’re able to give time to developing our sound in a way that wouldn’t have been possible if not for the pond of creativity that BIMM lets students languish in.
