Who are you listening to at the moment?
Such a difficult question! I never have one specific artist that I listen to. Been listening to a variety of different artists lately, from Ed Sheeran’s new album Divide to NAO’s For All We Know. However I can safely say that the highlight of the past few months has been an album by a female artist I stumbled upon on YouTube called H.E.R. (Having Everything Revealed) She brought back a sweet touch of the R&B sound we’ve all been missing and has kept her identity a mystery, claiming that she wants listeners to focus on the music. Definitely recommend it!
What do you love about London?
There’s never a dull moment – or maybe that’s just me! I think the main thing that I enjoy about London is actually studying at BIMM. I think my experience here as a Songwriting student has been extremely beneficial and eye-opening. The opportunities and knowledge that we gain from BIMM gives us more room to remain productive and creative. That’s been my favourite part.
Why Songwriting
It’s simple really – I love it. I can stay up till 4 in the morning writing a song or maybe two and never get sick of it. I enjoy it and I get extremely inspired. I want to be able to write some of the best songs one day whether for myself to perform or others, I want to do just that. There’s a certain liberating feeling about being able to reflect your thoughts and emotions with a song. The minute a verse or a chorus is written down, I suddenly feel like it’s no longer for me to keep and I have to share it with the world.
