There’s lots happening in the capital this August! Some exciting new festivals and live music series are coming up as well as the return of favourites like Beatyard and Bulmers Live. Check out some awesome shows from local bands too… 

Killswitch Engage – The Academy

Killswitch Engage bring their raucous live show to The Academy on the 1st of August in support of their latest release ‘Incarnate’. Tickets for the Dublin stop of the UK and Ireland leg of their world tour can be found here.

Cloud Castle Lake – Workmans

Dublin four piece, Cloud Castle Lake play Workman’s on the 2nd of August with support from BIMM act, Wastefellow. With their “complicated and bold compositions” and urge to push the boundaries of live performance, Cloud Castle Lake offer up a compelling and immersive live show.  Tickets are available here!

Beatyard – Dun Laoghaire

Beatyard returns to Dun Laoghaire Harbour for the August bank holiday weekend this year with an epic line up! Acts performing across the weekend include, The Jacksons, The Family Stone, Jenny Greene, Django Django, Little Dragon, Le Boom, Bad Bones, The Sugarhill Gang, Loah, Bodytonic DJs and many more. Scentless Apprentice – The Bowery

Scentless Apprentice drop by The Bowery in Rathmines on the 5th of August. After their recent sold out show, the Nirvana tribute act return with promises of a longer and louder set! Tickets are on sale now.

AMS Records Official Label Launch – The Sugar Club

AMS Records will hold their official label launch in the Sugar Club on the 8th of August. The line up on the night will feature AMS bands, Vernon Jane, Shelley Bukspan, The Creators and SELK. Get your tickets here to experience this amazing line up!

Hyphen Pop & The Sound House Present: Art School Girlfriend

The Last Mixed Tape in association with The Sound House is set to launch a new gig series, Hyphen Pop on the 9th of August. The first installment will showcase Art School Girlfriend (aka songwriter/producer Polly Mackey), with support on the night from the sensational Roe. We’ve Only Just Begun – Whelan’s

We’ve Only Just Begun, Dublin’s newest festival, host their inaugural event in Whelan’s from the 10th to the 12th of August. The line up features heavy hitters from all corners of the Irish music scene including, Cathy Davey, Bitch Falcon, Ships, Susie Blue, Sorcha Richardson, Dreaming of Jupiter and many more! Maya Youssef Trio – The National Concert Hall

Composer and ‘queen of the qanun’, Maya Youssef performs at the National Concert Hall on the 15th of August as part of Walton’s World Masters Series. More details and tickets can be purchased here. Don’t miss this chance to see a true master of their craft live!

Waterboys – Leopardstown

The Waterboys fill the headline slot for the ninth year of Bulmers Live at Leopardstown. They’ll be closing the series this summer which also featured Paul Young, Hudson Taylor, Smokie and KeyWest. Check out their website here for more details and special offers.

Booka Brass & Special Guests – The Purty Kitchen Dun Laoghaire

Hudson Taylor & Wyvern Lingo – Séamus Ennis Arts Centre
