In a recent poll, Brighton was voted the 2nd Happiest Place in the UK.
But why is this? Why is our humble little seaside town, one of the Happiest places in the UK?
We asked some Brighton based students what they love about our beautiful city.
Ryan Weeks, Vocals Student –
I love how busy it is, I’m originally from Royal Tunbridge Wells, and I love how everyone has there own place in Brighton, no matter what you’re into, there’s always a clique or pub night that caters to it. Also everyone is so easy going, free spirited and unique, it’s like a real life Sesame Street!
Michael Hayes, Guitar Student –
The question is what don’t I love about Brighton! The city has so much creativity and diversity, there’s something new happening around every corner. I wake up everyday excited not knowing what the day will bring.#
Lisa Ivars, Event Management Student –
The sea! I live about five minutes from the beach and I try to spend as much time there as I can. I also love that there’s always something going on in Brighton. You can go out and do something every day of the week if you want to. I come from quite a small city in Sweden where you’re lucky if something fun is going on Saturday night, so it’s a big change for me coming here and I couldn’t be happier!
Albert Chandler, Music Business Student –
I love Brighton because it has so much to offer. The people, the shops, the music scene. You’re never bored in Brighton.
Agne Miestauskait, Guitar Student –
Brighton is a very good place for creative people, especially musicians – there are loads of cool music venues around town, so there’s always something going on. It’s also one of the friendliest cities I’ve been to. Everyone can be themselves here, or to put it in other words – you can be as weird as you like, that’s cool.
Caitlin Moss, Vocals Student –
I love everything. The people, the music, the shops. It’s such a welcoming and inspiring place to live in, and I honestly don’t think that I could live anywhere else now!
