The Alt Show

4th June 2017

14 bands. 4 volunteers. 1 incredible show.

The Alternative Escape is always a highlight of my TGE and this year it blew me away. The Alternative Escape hosts shows all across the city, free of charge and for everyone. Being officially a part of The Great Escape since 2010, it’s rise in popularity has found it to be a vital part of the weekends proceedings.

Our Alternative Escape show was no exception to that.

Despite a few technical hiccups, The Alt Show was a roaring success. Showcasing 14 of the best bands Brighton has to offer with a sneaky appearance from, BIMM Manchester band, New Luna. All 14 bands performed with love and gusto, really showing audiences what we have to offer here.

Opening the show was HAKE followed by Murmur, New Luna, Hava, Fine Creatures, Frank & Beans, No Violet, Voodoo And The Crypts, Junodef, SEATS, DITZ, Fur, Penelope Isles and closing the day with MOONOVERSUN.

As proud as we are of our performers, the day couldn’t have ran without the dedicated and hard working volunteers. Casey Newman, Connor Selby, Tobias Velke and Napsugar Bardocz worked throughout the day to make sure the show went smoothly.

If you managed to catch some of the show, we hope you enjoyed it.

If not we have included a little album of some of our favourite photographs of the night, taken by Serpell-Rand Photography
