We’ve been chatting with BIMM students past and present to give you a little inspiration with your own musical journeys.

WHAT DIFFERENCE HAS BIMM MADE TO YOUR CAREER?

The most important lesson I learnt at BIMM was understanding the ins-and-outs of the music industry. This allowed me to make informed and beneficial decisions on how to shape my musical career. BIMM allowed me visualise my goals and turn my musical dreams into a manageable reality.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO WRITE/PLAY MUSIC?

The connection that music creates with every heart and soul. I focus on the feeling of my material and question how people would react emotionally. To know that my music could connect with people on a personal level makes it worthwhile.

DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR NEW AND FUTURE STUDENTS?

Get involved as much as you can with the business side of music, which BIMM lecturers are fantastic at teaching! Many musicians are talented, but marketing, promoting and raising awareness of your act takes that talent, brings it to the forefront and lets people know who you are.
