Introduce yourself…

Hello! My name is Rebecca Peace, I’m a 22-year-old solo artist from Shropshire. I’ve always been a creative person whether it’s singing, songwriting, dancing, acting, modelling or creating Youtube content – I love it all! Music has helped me express myself over the years – where words may have failed, my songs have spoken for me instead.

How did you get into music?

I’ve been bought up around music from a very young age. My grandad would tour Birmingham with his band in the 60’s, one of my uncles moved to London to join a famous band in the 90’s and my other uncle won battle of the bands in the 90’s. At age 3 I performed in a band stand with my uncle at a festival where I’m from in Shropshire – after experiencing being on stage I knew that I wanted to do this for the rest of my life.

What’s your favourite venue to play?

I absolutely love gigging at The Griffin in Oswestry, Shropshire. It’s a rather small venue with a homely feel and friendly locals enjoy going there for gigs.

What are you most looking forward to about studying at BIMM Birmingham?

Freshers week! I’m kidding…I can’t wait to get back into education, learn how to strengthen my skills and make lots of new lovely friends. I met about 20 students at the Tony Iommi masterclass. The masterclass made me even more excited to start!
