BIMM Brighton alumnus Bella McKendree has just released a fantastic new single entitled ‘Water’. The track is the first we’ve heard from the London-based singer songwriter since her much lauded EP ‘Waiting’ in 2017.
Bella studied a Songwriting Diploma whilst developing her sound, which is a beguiling blend of pop-tinged piano melodies and pure and breathy vocals with expansive yet ambient production – the sum of which puts Bella’s music alongside the likes of likes of Susanne Sundfor, Feist or Lana Del Rey.
BBC Introducing Kent picked up Bella’s previous EP track ‘Baby Let’s Fall’ in 2017, naming it Record of the Week, whilst previous single “Grieve” was premiered by Clash (Record of the Day) and featured in Music Week.
Previous performances include the Edinburgh and Brighton Fringe Festivals, Sunrise Celebration Festival, Camper Calling, Oxjam Festival, Gorjy’s Secret’s Festival, Togfest, St Luke’s Church Kentish Town, Notting Hill Arts Club, The Ritzy Brixton and Alexandra Palace, as well as numerous Sofar Sounds appearances from Berlin to Rome.
