What was the inspiration behind your track?
The lyrics are about a relationship that’s going downhill fast but instead of running away you stick with it, even though the ship is sinking (hence the title of the song).
What did your process involve?
Tom wrote the music and the first verse, along with the pre-chorus. Jordao added a second verse and chorus, and in rehearsal the track just came together with the addition of bass and drums.
Is there a specific line that stands out in the song, and why?
The opening line of the song “my youth was yours, girl”. Whilst subtle, it emphasises how strong a connection there was between the two people. The line “It was chaos, intertwined with love” signals the direction of the relationship.
Can you describe your sound in three words?
Raw, energetic, massive
