What was the inspiration/is there a story behind your track?

There wasn’t necessarily a big inspiration but when I heard the original track from The Spacies, I felt the lyrics/meaning behind the song really connect with me and I tried to express how that made me feel through my remix.  I feel my remix is a lot more energetic and uplifting than the original due to how I perceived the meaning of it but still heartfelt and pretty emotional to me. The vocal chop in the drop kinda emphasises the confusing nature within a relationship (that the song lyrics express) but almost in a beautiful way.

What did your process involve?

Firstly I sat down with the original stems, got rid of a lot of elements from the original and starting building my own chords and adding parts back in from the original to benefit my remix and to turn it into my own. For example, in the last drop you hear the trumpet melody but that was used in a very different way in the original. I also ensured to use the future bass vibe genre I’ve been producing recently as I feel it’s my new style developing.

Can you describe your sound in three words?

Moving, Powerful and Fresh

What’s are you most looking forward to about studying at BIMM?

Learning more about advanced production techniques and mixing and mastering. Also looking forward to getting to know other musicians such as vocalists to work with, as well as the music industry teams. Honestly I’m just pumped to make more music both of my own styles and new ones!
