What was the inspiration/is there a story behind your track?

Basically, I had a hard time getting over my ex-boyfriend even though I was the one who broke things off. After the breakup, I began to overthink everything, and everyday I changed between faith and hate. It was a constant back and forth in my head, and one day I felt like I needed to take a break from it. I took a bath and just went underwater to calm myself down. That’s why there are water noises at the beginning of the song. There is something soothing about being underwater, you can exclude yourself from the rest of the world and stay in silence.

How did you write the song?

I find it easier to come up with the verses first. Then chorus kept on changing because I couldn’t decide what lyrics I wanted to use.
After I reread the lyrics I realised, I am really overthinking my past and my future, and ultimately him – that’s where the chorus came from.

Do you have a favorite line/section of the song ?

“You’ve been pulling me back then you pushed me all away without a word to say.“

Can you describe your sound in three words?

Flowing, Soulful, Raw.

How do you feel your sound has developed from studying at BIMM?

I feel like that my voice has been given the freedom to unfold. Before I came here I guess I could sing already, but I didn’t have a natural sound. BIMM really gives us lots of space to develop in our own unique way. That’s how my voice could evolve. I definitely found myself here at BIMM London.

What’s the best thing about studying at BIMM?

The opportunities! BIMM is like a magnet, it draws all these passionate musicians to this place and you meet like-minded people who you can work with, it’s amazing. I feel very comfortable here and I never feel lonely.
